Abstract
Endoscopic self-expandable metallic stent placement for palliation of malignant gastric outlet obstruction is a feasible, well-tolerated and highly successful treatment. The complications that have been described after stent placement are malposition, migration, obstruction of the stent, visceral perforation, bleeding, infection and fistula formation. We reporthere on two patients with malignant gastric outlet obstruction who developed acute pancreatitis after the insertion of a self-expandable metallic stent.(Korean J Med 71:S969-S973, 2006)
