- Abstract
- Mucosal pseudolipomatosis is a recently described endoscopic finding. This is a benign, transient lesion. Pseudolipomatosis for
resembling fatty infiltration, is characterized by the presence of small gas voids in the gastrointestinal wall, especially in mucosa.
Frequency of colonic pseudolipomatosis is higher than stomach. Mechanical and chemical theories have been available to explain
the pathogenesis of colonic pseudolipomatosis. Mechanical theory is air pressure-related complication of colonoscopy. Chemical
theory is drug-related complication of detergent for colonoscopy. But pathogenesis of gastric pseudolipomatosis is still unclear.
Recently, we experienced a case with gastric pseudolipomatosis after endoscopoy and biopsy. So we report a case of gastric
pseudolipomatosis.
