- Abstract
- Gangliocytic paraganglioma of the minor papilla is a extremely rare tumor and is composed of the proliferation of epithelioid cells,
ganglion cells and spindle-shaped cells. A 58-year-old man was referred for further evaluation of a polypoid lesion in the
proximal second portion of the duodenum. Duodenoscopy disclosed about 1cm sized, subpedunculated, polypoid lesion with
erythematous mucosal change in minor papilla. Endoscopic biopsy demonstrated only chronic inflammation. MRCP revealed about
1 cm sized isosignal intensity lesion in descending duodenum and it was connected with the accessory duct. EUS showed a
heterogenous and hypoechoic mass in the submucosa . The lesion was resected by endoscopic snare papillectomy with
submucosal saline injection. We report the first case of endoscopic resection of gangliocytic paraganglioma in minor papilla in
Korea with a review of literature.
