- Abstract
- Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (cc-TGA) is a rare congenital heart disease. Systemic venous blood
passes from the right atrium through a mitral valve to a anatomical left ventricle and then to the pulmonary artery. Pulmonary
venous blood passes from the left atrium through a tricuspid valve to a left-sided right ventricle and then to the aorta.
Multidetector CT is new technology, which has been proven to be very useful in delineating the complex cardiac anatomy
non-invasively. We present a case of a 29-year-old man diagnosed as cc-TGA with atrial septal defect by echocardiography
and cardiac catheterization. Multidetector CT nicely elucidated that the aorta arised from the left-sided right ventricle with both
coarse trabeculation and circumferential hypertrophy, which located anterior, left lateral, and superior to the main pulmonary
artery in this patient.
