- Abstract
- Spontaneous hemorrhage occurring in various parts of the body in patients receiving chronic hemodialysis has been
reported. However, there are only a few reported cases of spontaneous mediastinal hemorrhage in such patients.
We experienced a case of spontaneous mediastinal hemorrhage in a 58-year-old woman with chronic hemodialysis.
She experienced the sudden onset of chest pain and dyspnea. The diagnosis was made by chest computed tomography.
Her symptoms were relieved with conservative treatment and the mediastinal hemorrhage was completely absorbed after
8 months. We report this rare case of spontaneous mediastinal hemorrhage in chronic hemodialysis with a review of the
