Abstract
An accessory spleen is a relatively common anomaly that is observed in about 10% of individuals. The pancreas is the second most frequent location of accessory spleens. An intrapancreatic accessory spleen (IPAS) must be differentiated from various pancreatic tumors and metastases. We present a case of IPAS in a 60-year-old man that mimicked pancreatic cancer and was confirmed after distal pancreatectomy. We review the literature on IPAS and alternative tools for the differential diagnosis.
