Abstract
Increasing the number of drugs has been implicated in the etiology of eosinophilic pneumonia. Drug-induced eosinophilic pneumonia is indistinguishable from other types of eosinophilic pneumonia based on clinical, radiographic, and histopathologic criteria. The diagnosis is supported by a temporal relationship to certain drugs. Currently, the drugs most commonly associated with eosinophilic pneumonia are antibiotics and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Here, we report a case of loxoprofen-induced eosinophilic pneumonia. A 54-year-old man was admitted with fever, rash, and dyspnea after loxoprofen therapy. The patient’s symptoms were improved after steroid therapy, but returned after the administration of loxoprofen. The patient was diagnosed with eosinophilic pneumonia due to loxoprofen.
