- 봉와직염과 심부정맥 혈전증은 임상적으로 유사하여 주로 다리의 통증, 발적, 부종의 증상을 보일 수 있기 때문에 두 질환이 동반될 수 있음을 간과할 가능성이 있다. 봉와직염의 임상증상을 보이는 경우 심부정맥 혈전증을 놓치게 되어 잘못된 진단으로 폐색전증과 같은 심각한 합병증으로 진행될 수 있으므로 봉와직염 환자에서도 혈전의 발생 위험이 높은 경우 심부정맥 혈전증 동반 가능성과 폐동맥 혈전 색전증으로의 진행 가능성을 생각해 볼 필요가 있다. 이제까지 보고된 바에 따르면 봉와직염 환자에서 심부정맥 혈전증이 발생하는 경우는 낮으며 특히 폐동맥 혈전색전증으로 진행하여 발견되는 경우는 극히 드물다. 이에 저자들은 하지에 봉와직염이 있는 54세 남자 환자에서 발생한 폐동맥 혈전색전증 1예를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

- Abstract
- Cellulitis and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) have similar symptoms (lower extremity pain, erythema, and swelling) and there is the potential for misdiagnosis. In cases of cellulitis, DVT should be ruled out, as the symptoms of cellulitis might mask those of DVT, leading to serious complications such as pulmonary thromboembolism. The reported incidence of DVT in patients with cellulitis is low, especially patients with progression to pulmonary thromboembolism. We present a case of pulmonary thromboembolism following cellulitis of the lower leg in a 54-year-old male. (Korean J Med 2014;86:334-338)
