Abstract
Percutaneous retrieval of intravascular foreign bodies is an effective treatment method that obviates the need for major surgical procedures. We removed an intravascular foreign body during primary percutaneous coronary intervention nonsurgically. The plastic coating of the guidewire was stripped off against the bevel of a metal needle and the sheared piece of coating became stuck in the pulmonary artery. It, however, was retrieved using a loop snare.
Key Words: Percutaneous coronary intervention; Guidewire embolism
